“Everything is Figureoutable”

Two years ago today we were waiting for our umpteenth round of blood tests for our two week old. I was exhausted, a nervous wreck and completely unsure of what I was doing.

Two years later… I still have no idea what I’m doing, but it doesn’t scare me anymore.

I’ve learned that it’s okay to not know what to do – it’s no indication of your ability as a mom.

It’s really good to ask for help. Your people WANT to help you! There are also professionals who are trained to help you. We see three speech therapists a week and I’m on a first name basis with our pediatrician’s nurse.

It’s okay to be tired, you’re not doing it wrong if you’re tired. Nap time snuggles are actually really sweet.

It’s REALLY good to talk about stuff. There is healing in talking with other moms who get it – no questions asked. (Looking at you @lauracoopergt, @maura_elizabeth88 and @cglynn4)

It’s okay to have off days. No need to scrap your entire parenting style and start from scratch. It’s just a day.

And the Big Guy Upstairs is there every hour of the night. He hears every cry, worry, doubt and loves you and your little one more than you could ever imagine. He made you a momma because He believes in you!

So wherever you are on your parenting journey, be it day 14 or day 814, look ahead with hope. Because in the words of @marieforleo: “Everything is figureoutable.”
